The last May 13, 2021 at the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City, the Investment Promotion Center South Vietnam (IPCS) had a close meeting with the Consulate General of India with the attendance of Mrs. Tran Thi Hai Yen, Director of IPCS and Mr. Madan Mohan Sethi – Consul General.
At the meeting, Ms. Tran Thi Hai Yen highly appreciated the close cooperation between IPCS and the Indian General Consulate. As an extension of the Foreign Investment Agency, IPCS is in charge of managing 34 provinces from Quang Tri to Ca Mau, so investment promotion from India to Vietnam and from Vietnam to India will be bring opportunities and potential for bilateral development.
She also said that in the near future, the two units will coordinate to organize survey trips in the southern region to introduce the project, investment environment as well as connect Indian investors with the locality.
Mr. Madan Mohan Sethi emphasized the potential of foreign investment from India in the post-Covid-19 period, Indian investors are very interested in the Vietnamese market, especially in the Mekong region.
He also said that the main interest are construction, food processing, health care and education. With the quality of education among the top in the world, investing in this field will be a big step forward in the bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and India.
Concluding the meeting, the parties came to an agreement on a coordination mechanism, orientation for long-term and intimate cooperation. IPCS will continue to accompany TLSQ India in investment promotion forums in the coming time.
